Gas Hob | Installation and Precautions

Gas Hob

Using gas appliances in the kitchen is becoming popular by every passing day. Mentioned below in the article are some helpful hints should you opt to install a gas appliance in your kitchen: Use only a registered gas installer to install your appliance and associated pipe work. On completion of the installation the registered installer will issue you a certificate of Compliance to verify that the work done has been tested and is in compliance with the National standards of any country you are in. Failure to use a registered installer could nullify your appliance guarantee and any insurance claim in the event of fire damage.
When your kitchen is being planned please keep the following in mind: Your kitchen hob should be installed at a minimum of 200mm away from any isolator or plug point. There may be no electrical switch in the cupboards directly below a gas hob. Your kitchen gas hob should be installed a minimum of 5m from a DB board or ignition source. It should be a minimum of 1m away from any door. A maximum of 1 x 9kg gas cylinder may be stored in the kitchen and can be kept in the under-counter cupboard adjacent to the gas hob or cooker.
Keeping in view the above mentioned points and precautionary steps, a good, safe and healthy environment can be maintained where one can enjoy cooking the best cuisines on their loved kitchen gas hob.
