Galvanized Process

The most interesting galvanization process which also yields the best results in a qualitative way is the wire galvanization process known as the Crapo process. The wire obtained by this process and the brought on the market has a zinc coating of from about 900-100 gram, and is flexible in every way without a loss of zinc coating. According to the specifications of the patent, this remarkable effect is obtained by the passing of the wire, previous to pickling and galvanizing, through a lead bath having a temperature of from 700-800 degree which on the surface of the wire discharge region is covered with a fluid solution of salts which may consist of chemicals. After passing through this salt smelt, the wire should be pickled and galvanized in the ordinary manner. It is true that the patent puts forward no possibility of explaining the occurrence of these effects.
